If you’ve read Dan Brown’s “The Lost Symbol”, you’ve gotten a taste of the scientific, cutting-edge research being conducted by the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Now you can actually participate in their important experiments which delve into the realm human consciousness by playing their on-line games. It’s fun and it’s free!

If you’re unfamiliar with Institute of Noetic Sciences, also known as IONS, this non-profit organization was founded by Apollo 14 astronaut, Edgar Mitchell and has been conducting research into the “potentials and powers of consciousness” for over 35 years.

Striving to bring greater scientific proof to previously deemed esoteric phenomenon such as human intuition, thought, intention and universal consciousness, the institute is now inviting the general public to contribute to their on-going research. They’ve posted several, free on-line PSI games that test you psychic ability. In case you’re wondering, “PSI” is the term parapsychologists use when referring to all kinds of psychic phenomena that seem to be related to the psyche, or mind, and which cannot be explained by established physical principles.

Simply by playing these amusing games, you’re helping to provide data that’s used in IONS’ research on consciousness.

The first game, entitled “Halls of Healing” tests the skills of “distance healers”. An example of a distance healer is someone who practices the Japanese healing energy modality “Reiki”, but anyone has the ability send healing energy, it’s just than some can do it better than others. So if you’d like to see how you score on your distant healing powers, play this game.

The next game is called “The Garden of Dreams”. This intriguing game is actually several games in one, but all are designed to help the institute research “how intuition is influenced by mood, belief, personality and the environment.” You don’t have to kill anyone in these video games to score high points; (how refreshing), on the contrary, you are rewarded for your positive, meditative mind-set and intuitive skills.
